Tonight, the best bet for local rockin' and rollin' is Scotty Quixx, where The Influence will be bringing their awesome live show to the Granby Street crowd. If you've never seen these guys, you should know that there will be extremely tight musicianship, a bullhorn, and possibly some shirtless dudes on stage.
Friday night, it's time for the VBNIGHTLIFE.COM PARTY BUS!!! The ALL NEW bus features a Large 42" Direct TV and BAR STOCKED WITH BEER an

Over the past century, few entertainers have achieved the legendary status of Bill Cosby. So when I had the opportunity to see him live in Norfolk I jumped at the chance. His successful career has spanned five decades so what you remember most about him may very well depend on your age. He is known widely for the Cosby show, a successful stand-up act which began in the 1960’s, a string…

Although many say there is a difference between Iraq and Afghanistan there must be an assumption made that all trauma is the same. It doesn’t matter if you were landing on a beach in the far east, fighting the hedges of Normandy, on the frozen reservoir, fighting in the hot jungles of Vietnam or fighting against another hidden enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan. All trauma is the same.
I used to think that my story was the only story until I started listening to other veterans. Then I realized that…

I cannot tell you how many times someone asks me to write about their life. That 'their' life is a story. Everyone's life is a story but you have to ask yourself this one thing. Who wants to read it other than yourself or family? You have to write to entertain or it will never be read.

Do we live for the moment and not worry about how our actions will affect someone else's feelings and life....is it all about oneself? What a pity we can be so selfish and yet pretend to be so concerned about others. I hate it.

Have you seen Carbon Jam yet? These guys (and a girl) have fresh energy, strong vocals, and spot-on instrumentation. Oh yeah, they're also all 13-14 years old. They play a steady mix of covers from all over the rock map, and throw in some originals too. Don't miss your shot to see them this Friday at 15th St. Raw Bar from 7:30 to 11pm.
